Revolutionary Vision of Interiors - Redefining Superyacht Design
Creativity takes courage. Vision that accompanies the process of creation, in turn, is an indispensable element of each design story that brings a whole set of unique experiences and gives an audience something they don't see coming in yachting industry just yet. Meet a synthesis of artist, inventor and revolutionary strategist - interior designer, Andrei Pastushuk answers the questions that have never been asked.
"Aesthetic principles of interior design": how would you describe it?
There are different schools: one is telling a designer there should be one central element of interest, another one implies a presence of certain vivid accents. Some post-modern designers sacrifice a lot of functionality just to achieve a shockingly unexpected look. But there are also designers that treat an interior as a whole, as one composition where all its elements create a perfect completeness. This my main aesthetic principle and I hope I managed to achieve it.
VIP Guest Cabin Design (Deconstructivist Option)
One of your VIP cabin concepts is being described as "Deconstructivist Option". How should we interpret it?
Deconstructivist architecture is something I usually refer to as “unarchitecture”. It has never been and likely will never become one of my favorite styles. Nonetheless, sometimes I feel like I can give a style some additional meaning, and make it kind of more complete.
VIP 2 Guest Cabin Design (White-And-Grey Option)
One of the new interior design trends of 2019 says that "beige is the new grey". It looks like it corresponds to your style, doesn't it?
Shades of grey are most suitable to be used in offices and for most of the business-related activities. The combination of white and grey is something that, in my opinion, should not normally be used for any living spaces. Such combination would surely make a very appropriate ambience for a high-tech store. So, what does it take to be able to use such colors in a living space? The answer is simple: these colors should be complemented with very warm wall coverings, ceiling panels, and carpeting.
In turn, VIP 3 Cabin with walnut option takes beige palette to a new level, bringing immediately both warmth and a sense of calm to the superyacht interior space.
As you can see, beige also emerges as the prevailing trend in the full-beam owner’s suite that was designed for a 47m yacht concept Acer, being for sale with Worth Avenue Yachts.
