NEW SUPERYACHT CONCEPT: KNOWLEDGE AND ARTISTRY THAT GIVES HER POWER
THE STORY | SUCCESS IS NO ACCIDENT!
Duelle Yacht Design is founded and led by Michele Lubrano Lobianco, born in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, infatuated with sport boats and sea. After having graduated from the University of Naval Design in La Spezia (followed by gaining valuable work experience in Intermarine and Ferretti Yachts), he moved to Australia. At Peter Lowe Design Studio he designed his first boat, a 70-foot fiberglass yacht, launched six months later.
On his return to Italy Michele became Francesco Paszkowski’s right-hand man in his renowned studio in Florence, contributing (during the seven years of his stay) to many successful projects for San Lorenzo, CRN, Baglietto, Heesen and Tankoa in the position of "Head of Design Department".
Thanks to Lobianco's “out-of-the-box” vision and fresh approach to design, he was selected in 2014 to be a part of the following projects for Wider Yacht:
In 2018 Lobianco joined Dominator Yachts where he initially supervised the engineering and then later the construction process of two fully customized Ilumen 28m yachts, one of which has won The World Yacht Trophy in Cannes in 2018.
The experience gained both in design studios and in production sites has given him a 360-degree design vision. It's the testimony of rational rigor combined with flexibility of reconciling an attractive yacht design with valuable technical solutions. It's the story of eliciting emotions and enhancing comprehension of “form follows function” approach.
MEGAYACHT 215 GLADIUS
Their knowledge gives her character; the character gives her power. Duelle Yacht Design's first 65m megayacht concept "Gladius" (derived from Latin, meaning “a sword”– due to her sleek and aggressive lines), has been shortlisted at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2019.
Powered by two MTU engines with a total power of 11,184 hp, the superyacht reaches a maximum speed of 26 knots, with a cruising speed of 22 knots.
The range is about 4,200 nautical miles at an economical speed of 12 knots.
The M/Y Gladius is equipped with 6 cabins (5 for guests) a gym, 2 custom jacuzzi, cinema, helipad on the foredeck area and a garage that can easily accommodate a 10m tender.

BOHEMIAN TRADITION INTERSECTS WITH UNCONVENTIONAL YACHT INTERIOR LIGHTING
"Light can be sensual; it can be comforting; it can be even dangerous. It goes beyond science or nature, or even art. It is as potent as life itself".
The luxury Czech-based company with years of experience provides in-house consulting and realization of construction, drawings, design, as well as in-house production. The assembly hall enables skilled designers and engineers to oversee the entire construction which means even the smallest details are taken care of before the product leaves factory.
The design process includes solutions that help isolate all possible sources of resonation in metal and glass parts, even in complex installations composed of thousands of trimmings. This means that lighting design is ready to sail from the moment installation is complete.
Preciosa creates unique chandeliers, wall lights, decorative objects, and floor or furniture inlays as well as various options for columns and balustrades. One of the latest and most beautiful lighting installation is an outstanding Pearl Wave, that made its debut at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.
More than 700 handmade triplex opal spheres are suspended on gold finished metal rods, where highlight is the fascinating interactive element. “This is a dynamic, people-driven light specially designed for yachts. It is the perfect lighting partner for all your special onboard celebrations”, said Michael Vasku, Creative Director for Preciosa.
Selection of chandeliers specially designed for superyacht interiors that can become a unique and an elegant addition to any yacht interior luxurious space include products like: SeAnne, Apollo, Nebula, Argo and Asteria. Each of them is timeless and inspired by different feelings.
Company provided lighting to the most exquisite luxury yachts and biggest cruise lines including current longest superyacht in the world, Disney Cruise Line (including the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Magic ships), Norwegian Cruise Line (including the 2018 Norwegian Bliss), Royal Caribbean International, and Seven Seas Explorer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises considered the most luxury cruise ship to date.
Every light installation goes through rigorous testing to ensure a perfect onboard experience. Their ‘silent block’ technology results in tremble-free lights and trimmings no matter the size of the installation, or the waves. A vibration test, in turn, verifies the quality of construction during production, while the durability of materials is tested in a salty chamber.
Light is the magical element that makes or breaks a space, enhances color, form and texture. It's this magical element that puts design in the right shape, creating expression of a structure with great delicacy of detail.

ITALIAN YACHT INTERIOR CRAFTSMANSHIP: DO WHAT IS RIGHT, NOT WHAT IS EASY
Skilled artists shape luxurious wood, stark aluminium, fine steel, opulent silk, warm leather and even marble and titanium to realize the visions of the world’s most renowned designers. A century of experience provides Yachtline1618 a one of a kind status among the world’s top constructory of luxurious yachting interiors. The company is taking part in several projects for yacht interiors built from scratch up but also for breathing a new life into a more classic vessel by refitting and refurnishing them. Lately they have been working on M/Y FB 262 known as “Lionheart” by Benetti. High-shine veneers and soft to the touch, cream leather furnishing, light fabric and the use of transparent glass make already spacious interiors feel even more airy. Another project realized in 2016, M/Y FB 802 also from Benetti called for the generous use of finely veined marble and glass mosaic counterbalancing the weight of these luxurious materials with light shades for the leather and fabric of the furniture. These are complemented with a more starkly dark wooden surfaces reflecting the coming from natural and cleverly hidden sources.
Traditional style still valid and not all the interiors should be about clean lines, modern furnishings and gentle pastel colours. Luxury and opulence oozes from every detail in this expertly and skillfully realized refitting project. According to our sources Yachtline1618 is currently working on several more confidential projects and as more information surfaces we will present them.
